    Here is a Confederate one-dollar Richmond Virginia treasury note was issued by the Virginia state government July 21, 1862.
    Printed on the note is "VIRGINIA TREASURY NOTE / The Commonwealth of Virginia will pay ONE DOLLAR to bearer on demand at the Treasury. / RICHMOND ".
    The note depicts a portrait of John Letcher, Virginia Governor, at left, Ceres seated, at center, black print, on plain paper, red overlay with "ONE" and "1" shown twice, plain back.
    Date is printed in black: May 15 1862
    There is a serial number hand inked in black "Unsure of these numbers"
    The signatures are hand signed in ink.
