    Description

    ENOS SLAUGHTER AUTOGRAPHED LETTER
This is a fantastic letter written by Enos Slaughter to a young fan while Slaughter was serving in World War Two
This is a very special piece of baseball and World War Two Memorabilia
    The letter reads:
"Dear Pal, received your nice letter.  I do not know my pals addresses well.  1942 was my first Series games.  I will never forget the good old days.  When you are hitting always keep your eye on the ball until you see the ball hit the bat, always.  Hustle and never give up, you will succeed I am sure.
I will be glad to get back to the Cards (St. Louis Cardinals), but we got to win this war first.
    Good luck Pal,
    Sgt. Enos Slaughter"
Letter is on 885th Classification Center Squadron letterhead
I could not find any available example of another letter from a Hall of Fame baseball player written to a fan while serving in world war two
Letter measures 7 x 10 inches and has some light wrinkles and hole punch on the left side.  It was attached to another piece of paper on the back which is visible in the scans
