    Description

4th Armored WWII Photos Personal Journal Battle of the Bulge written by Sam Garcia.  I picked up this historical group of WWII items about 20 years ago and have decided to part with it. I hope someone can appreciate the significance of one mans story with the 4th Armored Division during a crucial time of WWII.
Samuel B. Garcia from Texas. If I remember right he may have lived in Benavides.  There is a picture of Sam with his friends and I cropped it so we can see who he was. The names were on the back of the photo.
Sam typed in his experiences in the 4th Armored booklet " from the beach to Bastogne".  On the 2nd to the last page he writes....
" Dec 20 - 31 inclusive  (1944) Christmas Eve we were shelled and strafed. Christmas Day we were strafed and bombed. A very sad day as some of my buddies were killed by enemy bombs. Tears rolled down my cheeks.
This was Bastogne;  we spent part of the winter inhere; it was terrific cold;  snow everywhere;  weather below 0.  One night as I was on guard duty, enemy artillery shells began to fall close to where my post was.  I got close to a stone wall,  trying to find protection from pieces of shrapnel.  I expected death at any minute. Shells continued to come in, but God my protector saved me."
On one of the German postcards he writes " German Officer (Pictures that I found 3).  There is also group of postcards in an envelope " The Liberation of Luxemburg.  Misc. pictures of a friend and more postcards and pictures.  A piece of history.
