    The full cheek bit has extensions above and below the mouthpiece to assist in lateral control and direction as well as to help prevent the bit ring from being pulled through the pony’s mouth.   The mouthpiece has been twisted to create edges and pressure points to increase responsiveness to the bit.  The cheeks on this bit have been shortened to compliment the smaller equine's head.  This bit can be severe and should only be used by experienced riders with good hands.
    This bit is used but in very good

    .   It has some marks from normal use, but nothing that should effect its performance in any way.   On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being new, mint condition, I would give this bit an 8.5+.  A nice quality bit.
