Because, the whole drive will need to be scanned to find recoverable data. The bigger the drive, the larger the hay stack is to find the needle.  Therefore more effort and higher cost.

HD packaging & Shipping Instructions:
Mechanical, Non-SSD hard drives are prone to damage from mechanical impact.  Please wrap them well in bubble wrap
or using the original manufacture hard drive packaging.  Customers having challenge in taking the hard drives out of the computer can send in their laptop/desktop.  However, care should be taken to ensure the computer and package can endure rough handling during the shipping.
Customers are also advised to insurance the package to its proper value.
The item will typically be shipped back in the same packaging with the same shipping method and insurance value. With large heavy computers, additional return shipping cost and insurance beyond this listing price will be collected from the customer.
Transfer of Recovered Data:
The easiest way is to send a second good hard drive (internal or external) large enough to contain the recovered data.  Loaner hard drive ( extra) and FTP transfer (0 extra) can be arranged, but do not worth the extra time and effort that both of us had to put in.

Put it simple, it doesn't matter to us.  We work on them all.  Any brands and models of hard drive from any computer, any interface and types.
Order Instructions:
Order this item to
initiate the service.  We will send instruction and address for receiving the drives.  eBay will not allow seller to send contact information before an order is in place.
If recovery is successful, data recovery cost will be as listed above will be collected. Payment will be collect through our other eBay listing.
If we cannot recover the data, we will send the drive back with no more charge, along with our finding and recommendation for 2nd tier data recovery service. The payment for this listing mostly covers the return shipping.
