PS3 Service - NEC Tokin Capacitor Replacement (Read Description)

Description

For sale here is a service for full replacement of the NEC Tokin capacitors on both sides of the motherboard. If your system is dusty, the dust will also be cleaned out with an air compressor. I'm offering this service mainly for those who would like to preserve their consoles for as long as possible but are afraid of damaging something in the process.
This service can ONLY be performed on fat PS3's and CECH-20XX model Slims. If you have a later model Slim or Super Slim then your system does NOT have any NEC Tokin capacitors and does not need this service! If you are interested in replacing the thermal paste, I do offer that in other listings on my ebay.
For the capacitors, I will be using a combination of 10
EEF-GX0E471R
SP-Caps and 10
CL21A226MQQNNWE
MLCCs on both the GPU and CPU side. These capacitors will be ordered from a reputable reseller such as Mouser or Digikey. These capacitors are a close match to the original spec and will perform much better than some random caps bought off of eBay or Aliexpress. I will also be sure to bridge the positive sides together with 18 AWG solid core wire, as the original NEC Tokins also included an internal positive jumper.
Please keep in mind that this is
NOT a repair service!
Replacing the thermal paste only serves as preventive maintenance to increase your console's lifespan. And while replacing the NEC Tokin capacitors
may
revive your system, I
cannot guarantee
they are the culprit behind your issues.
MOST
consoles unable to boot up have either a dead GPU or BGA defect which requires a reflow, reball or GPU replacement to repair! The NEC Tokin capacitors can and do fail, but please keep in mind that they are not at fault 99% of the time like Reddit makes it seem. Replacing these capacitors makes a good form of preventive maintenance, and can help older models run demanding games without crashing. Please don't expect this service to revive a dead processor caused by overheating! If you are unsure whether your system is dead because of a bad GPU or capacitor, I can scan syscon for error codes and let you know what is actually wrong with the system
and we can decide what you would like to do from there.
Please note that I do not offer full refunds if you choose to not have any repairs done after diagnosis. Scanning syscon requires
disassembling
the system and soldering wires to the motherboard, and I charge for this!
