    Rare Mettach 1/2 Liter Lidded Beer Stein Signed and #2967 Date when made 1905
    I have purchased and sold many many Mettlach steins since 1999 also from my Husbands collection, BUT I  have never seen one quite like this one! It has a 3 Dimensional etched effect on the front side and also the banner lettering on the reverse side, under the handle. Tried to translate with no luck...lettering is difficult to read let alone translate. It is in mint condition with no fading of the 2 Gentlemen pig and sheep farmers. The art Is just superb! The pewter lid has an embossed figure of  young boy who stole a goose with 2 other geese chasing after him.
    I have done nothing to this  so unusual magnificent stein except removed some of the dust and minor dirt with a soft cloth. Please see all the photos they are the best descriptions.
