Our secure drive erasing service can make sure your data is not recoverable. We will wipe your Windows based drive to US DoD 5220.22-M standards and e-mail you a report that verifies the drive has been securely erased.
Here's how it works:
You send the drive to us at your own expense. Typically, a US Postal Service small, flat rate box can be used. The current price for this service is .15. If you want to maintain a "chain of custody" for additional security, you might want to use Signature Confirmation for an additional .90. Prior to sending the drive, make note of the drive's serial number.
When we receive the drive, we'll test to make sure it powers up. If the drive is damaged or will not boot for any reason, we will physically open the drive and damage the disks so that nothing can be recovered. We'll e-mail a photo of the destroyed disk.
If the drive boots, we will perform a wipe procedure using the US DoD 5220.22-M standard. This consists of 3 passes- 1 to write all zeros to the drive, a second pass that writes all 1s to the drive and a third pass that writes random characters to the drive with verification after each pass.
We will the e-mail you a report that verifies that the data has been securely destroyed.
We will the either destroy or recycle the drive. If you want the drive returned, either enclose a check for .15 or send a PayPal payment in this amount for return service.
