    Description

    A pair of Vintage Oceanic 2001 SCUBA strobes, modified, by adding 12-watt Tungsten / halogen modeling lights, 2 of only 5 so modified by CAL-AV Labs.
    Switch was replaced by a 3-position one, for OFF -Modeling light ON, and strobe/modeling light ON. Modeling lights enabled numerous prize-winning  photos in international competition, by the likes of George Miller, and Jim Pol, in the '60's.
    Lot includes commercial-quality, dual charger for 2001's with a 115/230 -volt selector switch, for international use. Also, a case-opening tool for the 2001's. This tool is used with a drill press, to gently apply pressure to the 2001's lens, depress it  an eighth of an inch or so, and lock the press, so that top ring can be unscrewed.  These strobes were last used in the 1960's.  If they are for display, museum, etc., you're good to go,  If they are to be used, it will be necessary to install 1 missing off-on switch knob, new batteries, and to slowly re-form or replace the discharge capacitors.  Neither unit has ever been flooded, so electronics should be okay.
