Description

WW2 WWII KIA KILLED IN ACTION "WESTERN UNION" TELEGRAM PARATROOPER PAPERWORK .   This is a collection of original paperwork for Pvt. Don Halstead, who was killed in action April 29, 1943 in North Africa while serving as a paratrooper. There are approximately 20 items in this grouping. I pictured some of what I thought was the highlights of the group. The death telegram was not a Western Union as usual, but a Postal Telegraph. Next is the PH certificate which is in fine condition. Also included, are several letters and pamphlets concerning his burial. There are 2 newspaper clippings that give some interesting background information on Pvt. Halstead. There are several letters pertaining to his personal effects and financial concerns. Very nice grouping for a soldier who paid the ultimate price. All items are in good condition and legible.
