    Description

Here is a lot of approximately 65 letters that belonged to Arthur H. Rogers, Brigadier-General, US Army, Commanding Officer 30th Infantry Regiment. Most of the letters are written to him; he has written a few of them as well. Having received endearing correspondence from young men who served under his command, a U.S. Senator, and various military personnel of all ranks, he appears to have been a well-liked and humble man. He took the time to respond in great detail to the letter from a concerned father of an injured soldier. There is also V-mail and ephemera, including a large War Department map of Palermo with red handwritten notations.
Here is a list of some of the people who wrote letters:
William H. Hobson, Commanding General, Fort Benning, Georgia (several)
Mallery M. Kincaid, Major, CMP, Provost Marshal, Army Service Forces, Ninth Service Command Military Police
Commander Eric A. Falconer, 362nd Infantry Veterans Association of California, Insurance Post No. 404, the American Legion
William P. Scobey, Colonel, Infantry, Morale Services Officer
(South Dakota State Senator) Chan Gurney
    James T. Albritton, Captain, Infantry
John H. Luebsen, Captain, Infantry, Detachment of Patients
    Various colonels, captains,
    sergeants, corporals, privates
I also have listings for his photos from both WWI and WWII.
