I am offering today a
lot of 300 WWII Love Letters Correspondence Dating from 1944-1946 Navy USS Bagaduce. I did not go through every letter. Some are still sealed (not sure if just re-stuck together from age, but not torn open) . I pulled a few at random and this is what I discovered... In 1944, H.A. Ryan S2/C U.S.N.R.B. and U.S.N.T.S was writing to Miss Quinn. There are approximately 50 of these letters. One letter from him states that he has been at sea for over a week and when he got back, he thought he would hear from her (and he has not). At the end of the letter, he states with all my love. There is another letter on USO letterhead from same individual. One letter from same individual shows that he was on the USS Bagaduce. Another letter from same individual is asking her to tell him what is wrong, because he has not heard from her in two weeks. My guess is that she no longer wanted to be with this person....because of the other letters dating from 1945-1946.
Other letters 1945-1946 are from a
Lieutenant John B. Hocker. There are approximately 250 letters. He was in Stockton, California, Ft. Benj. Harrison Ind. and more. Some letters he refers to Miss Quinn as bride to be and she refers to him as husband to be. Maybe a letter in this group asking her to marry him?
There are some W. U. telegrams, and some other letters address to Miss Quinn from non military individuals. Again, approximately 300 letters. Please ask questions and I will do my best. There is so much here.
